I bought Lisp In Small Pieces, read 19 pages, then struck out on my own, writing a headcase macro to factor out the repetition from the SICP code, and an interpreter. The following code snipped from the REPL prompt We're glossing over a few details here, but if you have a little experience working with Lisp then you should have a pretty good idea of how to implement the above. I have also read good reviews on Lisp in small pieces and Advanced C programming. I refer you to the excellent book "Lisp in Small Pieces". Otherwise I would be hard pressed to choose something like The Art of the Metaobject Protocol, The wizard book, or maybe Lisp In Small Pieces. Today I made the first order – “Lisp in Small Pieces” – it's just the kind of book to buy as a special present to myself. I'm actually not that fond of TAOCP. Http://hop.inria.fr/ multi-tier programming language for the Web 2.0 and the so-called diffuse Web; Lisp in Small Piecesの著者でもある. You might not care about Lisp but this is an excellent example of literate programming. Writing a recursive function to perform that calculation is pretty straight forward, and once we put all of these pieces together in our create-world routine, we have a working proof of concept. What books have people read and found to be really good? I doubt I would agree to shell out the $80 it costs had I not had the RAC money in PayPal already. Do any of these topics have better books?
